Let's Play Ball with Cardi Bird!
In collaboration with St. Daniel Catholic Elementary School in Kitchener, Ontario and my Storytelling class this multimedia project aimed to support the learning of the counting principles in students of ages 4-6 during these times of online school. Through the use of storytelling I created a resource that would help kids learn and practice The Counting Principle of Cardinality and serve teachers and parents as a support to their children's learning process. It also includes colouring activities, as well as a Spanish version.
Following with the Principle of Cardinality, the story takes place in a maple tree, where the main character is a Cardinal bird named Cardi Bird. This character is looking forward to make two teams for a baseball game that will be the Cardinals vs the Blue Jays. It then goes to a series of houses counting the birds and encountering different situations, where the kids can count along with Cardi and reinforce the use of Cardinality.
