Poster Design
Trashed & Wasted is an event created by Toronto chef Brock Shepherd along with Second Harvest Toronto—the largest food rescue organization in Canada. In their first and last edition they brought different chefs, brewers and distillers to showcase how they use food that would be usually discarded to reinvent their work and, therefore, to prevent it from going trashed and then wasted.
For this project I created a poster for that event. Starting from a throughout research and continuing with ideating the composition and visuals that would be included. I kept the statistic at the top left corner as I wanted it to be the first thing that the viewer would read for them to have a sense of the issue’s magnitude. Creating this poster allowed me to expand my knowledge on food waste in Canada and better experiment the relation between text and image.

CD Cover
Inspired by the poster event, I created a CD cover for this event in which its content would be a series of talks from the chefs and brewers that attended the Trashed and Wasted event. They will talk more in depth about the creations they brought to the event and how they are contributing to reduce food waste in Canada. I invented them based on the exhibitors of the event’s last edition. Also, I included a recipe sheet of a "plantain skin skew" where I used my family’s standard recipe for a stew and researched the cooking and preparation of plantain skins.
